Hello my name is Jose Luis and I am a hairstylist and makeup artist here at R Studio. What excites me about the beauty industry is being able to help people feel their best and build their confidence with the help of a new haircut, new hairstyle, or enhancing facial features with makeup.

As a kid, I always knew that I wanted to be part of the beauty industry. It started when I was about six years old. I noticed my mom’s fruit scented nail polish. I was intrigued and curious and after seeing her use it multiple times, I finally asked her if she would let me paint her nails. Years later, I found my passion for hair. I would watch my mom style her hair and I loved the fact that simply styling and changing it up can transform your image. This only made me want to be in the beauty industry even more. Unfortunately, I was unable to go to beauty school right after high school, so I decided to  get certified as a medical assistant instead and started working in the medical field, but deep down inside I always knew I wanted to become a hairdresser.

After nine years of being in the medical field, I decided to quit my job and enroll at our local beauty school, Institute of Beauty Culture. It was one of the best decision I’ve made! I’m proud of myself for finally pursuing my childhood dreams!

I want to give a special thanks to my wife and everyone who’s believed in me and supported me throughout my journey. I’m thrilled to be where I’m at today and I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your hair and makeup goals.
